In ca. 300m Entfernung (Luftlinie) vom Studienzentrum befinden sich zwei FunkFeuer-Knoten (Sandgasse 23 und Petersgasse 118). Wir haben einen Linksys außen ans Fenster gestellt und eine recht akzeptable Verbindung zu beiden Knoten zustande gebracht: 7 MBit zu Sandgasse 23 (freie Sicht) und 2,5 MBit zu Petersgasse 118 (Gebäude dazwischen). Das Experiment war also erfolgreich :-) | |||

Praktische Experimente

Als erstes mussten die Linksys-Router mit einer neuen Firmware versehen werden, da die vom Hersteller ausgelieferte Firmware kein mesh routing mit OLSR gemäß [RFC 3626] unterstützt. Wir haben uns für die Freifunk-Firmware entschieden, da diese auch im Grazer FunkFeuer-Netz sehr beliebt ist. FreiFunk basiert auf OpenWRT.
Von FunkFeuer Graz wurde uns ein [RFC 1918] Class C-Netz (10.12.24.0) für die KIF zur Verfügung gestellt.
Die IP-Adressvergabe erfolgte via Peg DHCP gemäß [RFC 2322]. Als DHCP-Server diente eine Schachtel.
