Reso des AK "One Laptop Per Child"-Projekt

Die 36,5 KIF fordert alle Fachschaften auf, das “One-Laptop-per-Child”-Projekt (OLPC) aktiv durch den Kauf mindestens eines XO-Laptop-Paketes zu unterstützen und für das Projekt zu werben.

Das XO-Laptop-Paket besteht aus zwei Laptops, wovon einer für ein OLPC-Projekt gespendet wird (“Give1Get1”). Dieser wird dann als Bildungsmittel und Buchersatz in einem Entwicklungs- oder Schwellenland eingesetzt. Der zweite Laptop steht dem Käufer frei zur Verfügung.

Es sollen als Ziel möglichst viele Laptops auf einmal angeschafft werden, um ein ganz konkretes OLPC-Projekt zu unterstützen. Denn erst ab 100 Laptops ist es möglich ein bestimmtes Projekt auszusuchen. Dessen Unterstützung kann man anschließend auch öffentlichkeitswirksam präsentieren.

Die Anschaffung soll im Rahmen einer Großaktion unter der Schirmherrschaft der nächsten KIF-Orga (Sascha, 37.0 in Dortmund) geschehen.

Für diese Großaktion soll durch alle KIFfels aktiv geworben werden, damit das Mindestziel von 100 XO-Paketen erreicht werden kann.

In your previous post announcing the lecture, I was about to comment that you should post a video too, but then I thought what would be the chcnaes of that actually happening. I'm glad that it did and it gave me a chcnae to sit in without having to take a 13 hour plane ride home. Thanks!Near the end, you did mention something about OLPC trying to address some of the outstanding issues that were highlighted in your lecture. At the same time, you answered a question from the audience noting that no one with any kind of development education or experience was on staff. Do you have any idea of how they are addressing these issues, or if there has been any attempts to approach them by the development community to say to them, Hey, we think you still have some obstacles to overcome, we want to help ?
